Halidou Mounkaila is a human rights defender and member of Reseau des organisations pour la transparence et l'analyse budgetaire (Network of organizations for transparency and budget analysis – ROTAB). He works to denounce corruption and to promote democratisation and citizen participation.
Human rights defenders working in Niger on combating impunity and for social justice are targeted with judicial harassment, including pre-trial detention and trumped-up charges.
